The platform
Ranked by priority, and the ranking is not decorative. Item one is non-negotiable. Items two through five concern the ordinary operation of a place where people live.
A cat that appears on your porch has, in every meaningful sense, selected you. This administration will not interrogate that arrangement. Outdoor cats will be counted in the census. Indoor cats will be counted twice, as they are home more.
A stripe of paint is not infrastructure. It is a suggestion, painted. We will build lanes with something solid between the rider and the traffic, and then — this is the part everyone skips — we will connect them to each other.
There is no version of this in which the wrapper had to go out the window. The car has a floor. We will put bins where people already drop things and empty them before they overflow, and we will stop pretending the problem is a shortage of signs asking politely.
People are sorting carefully and the truck is taking it to the same place as everything else, and this has been true for longer than anyone was told. We will say plainly what is actually recycled and what is not, and if the answer is less than advertised, that is worth knowing more than it is worth being comfortable.
There are cars in the library parking lot after the library has closed, and the people sitting in them are doing homework. We will put the signal in the parks, the bus shelters, and the square, and it will be open — no account, no email address, no page asking how you would rate your session. It should work when you need it and ask nothing of you in return.
